About
RodSmith was born from a simple observation: custom rod building is a deeply personal craft, but the community never really had a place to call its own.
Builders were scattered across forums, spreadsheets, and social media — sharing specs in PDFs, pricing work through DMs, and watching years of knowledge vanish with every closed thread. Meanwhile, anglers who wanted something handbuilt had no easy way to find the right builder or understand what goes into the work.
So we built a place for it. Builders document their specs, share the process behind their builds, and put their work in front of people who actually appreciate it. Anglers discover craftspeople they trust, follow a rod from bare blank to first cast, and commission something built just for them.
From the first fork of a spec to the final thread wrap, RodSmith honors the tradition while giving the community real tools to connect, learn, and do business.
Every custom rod begins with a conversation. This is where that conversation lives.
